Its use in me and in people serves in some way to the change of what is usual with magic.
Now let's see several uses of magic for me and for people, as a main objective for me: that of uniting and communication between magicians through this Art; and for laymen: that of uniting and the capacity of awe thanks to this Art. As we can see, both coincide in uniting people, since it is something in common in any Art.
Descriptive magic can be created (disappearing objects, color changes, sorting decks, etc.) but the magic that will most affect people is the one that makes you travel to another world, and will make them remember you forever as a magician. For that you have to make them access the heart of the magician through beauty, Art and mystery, and not rely only on descriptions of mysteries, you have to rely on the heart. If you come to the world of magic as I have done, I am sure that you are not only a hunter of enigmas, but also a hunter of dreams.
The misuse of magic is causing more and more descriptive magic and tends to be questioned, because the magician can focus a game describing only what happens without giving any element of beauty or fiction to it.
Does this serve for my growth and the growth of others as people? Why? Magic serves both for my growth and the growth of others as people because it makes us return like children, as Pablo Picasso said: “All children are born artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” And why do we want to return to be like children? Very simple, to understand that not only the analytical exists, which wrongly they are teaching only that in education and increasingly eliminating more Art subjects (such as music) and subjects that make us think for ourselves (such as philosophy). As Paulo Coelho said: “Magic is a bridge that allows you to go from the visible world to the invisible. And learn the lessons of both worlds.” As many times in life and Art, truth does not always exist. And as Picasso said: “Art is a lie that makes us realize truth, at least the truth that is given us to understand.” For me, the border between truth and lie that we were taught as children, is a diffuse border. “When a lie creates emotion or creates change, it stops being a lie to become Art or to be evolution.” That is why again I believe fundamental to add Art to magic. Add elements of beauty that make your audience immerse themselves in a journey from which they want not to leave and from which, upon leaving, only remember beauty. That, just like in any other Art, will make them feel your magic. “But above all it will distance the truth/lie binomial from magic, to transform our Art into beauty and not into deception. Something I believe fundamental.”
To finish, I cannot stop writing without saying before that magic makes us improve as people and also improve the world, since like any other Art it is necessary, because it makes us know ourselves, be better people and communicate with others.
