My why in starting to do magic and dedicating myself to this is for several reasons.
First of all, I started doing magic tricks (which today I call “magic games”) when I was 7 years old, after the gift I received for Christmas, which was the mythical box of 'Magia Borrás', and my father showed me with a trick he performed from that gift, being fascinated by that world. I was not looking for anything, but the achievement of being able to perform it and amaze people.
Over time I left it alone, until I returned at 17 to do some tricks and magic trapped me until now, looking for more tricks on Internet, especially on YouTube. Then I acquired books and learned more about this wonderful Art in a correct and orderly way, leaving aside the Internet, because little by little I was realizing that magic was not just about tricks, I was discovering that it is something more and not just wanting to perform and amaze people with a trick. As I say in a quote of mine inspired by Alfonso Moliné: “Magic is not in the trick, but in the mystery, and with it being able to reach the illusion.”
I discovered that the trick is just a puzzle and if I didn't give it a talk, as a reason to express something (even if it wasn't with talk), what I was doing was not Art, but a puzzle, since magic tries to express something, as any Art expresses, because magic is Art and Art is magic, in addition to many more branches that it has such as music, painting, sculpture, etc.
Why do I want to dedicate myself to this? The first thing is that I was looking for this answer, since as a quote from Nietzsche says: “He who has a why to live can bear almost any how.” This quote came to me from a great magician I met on YouTube called Miquel Román and as he says, it summarizes the importance of having a strong why for everything you do, it has become one of the engines of my life like that of many people, although some do not know it. In my case my why is simply what distinguishes me from other magicians. What I discovered as a child and rediscovered when my hands were not the same and my thinking neither; besides wanting and having something to tell, express something, since those tricks I learned as a child until now, will serve me to use them as techniques (in addition to those I continue learning) and do a “magic game” by which I seek to express something, make people dream with magic that since childhood was in me, and bring out a smile and the side of the small being that we each have inside us, just like it happens to me. Currently it is what I love most and what I am passionate about in life, giving everything I am as a person and as an artist.
What do I seek with this? As I said before, I seek to express something that I feel at that moment I have to express, and for this, I seek to provoke three sensations: emotional impact (mystery), fun and entertainment (illusion), and also curiosity and intrigue (trick). In short, what any magician seeks is to reach mystery, since without an emotional impact there is no magic; also illusion from my point of view is essential in this life, since fun and entertainment makes us happy; and the trick is the basis of it, evidently there must be an element of curiosity and intrigue, but as Alfonso Moliné made me see again, more important is the illusion, and above all, the mystery.
In conclusion, I seek to turn the ordinary into extraordinary, as I say in a quote of mine: “Making the impossible possible.”
